Hello,
My name is Amelia Klaus, but most people call me Mia. I am a Wandering Librarian. I recently graduated from the University of Washington and I aim to work in academic or public libraries providing student focused reference and instruction sessions. I have been an avid reader my entire life, and have always sought to capture and share the way in which I see the world. As a child I attempted to do this through art (which, it turns out, I am terrible at), writing, singing, and acting- yet I was never fully satisfied with the results. Then, as I entered high school, I started playing around with the low-quality camera on my mobile phone (remember those flip-phone days?). Gradually I became more and more fascinated with capturing the physical world via photography, and in 2009 I received Icarus (my Nikon D60) as a Christmas present from my parents. It was love at first sight, and I have been shooting constantly ever since.
I am convinced that life is meant to be enjoyed and absorbed, and as such I try to travel as much as possible while also enjoying the beauty that can be found in the everyday moments of life. I love to share my adventures on my blog, and I hope that you decide to peruse my posts about people, adventure, and lovely places/products! You are also invited to check out more about my time as a librarian by checking out the Teaching Portfolio and CV tabs!
